Welcome! And thank you for taking the time to look a little deeper into our web site. As we mentioned on our main page, The New Americas Replay Conference (NARC) is an Internet based baseball league. We are dedicated to utilizing the Internet and web technology to enhance both the efficiency of our operation and the enjoyment of our members' gaming experience.
NARC is a 24 team league and we don't have any Managerial openings at the moment. The waiting list contains 7 people (1 active). From time to time, when real life gets in the way of the hobbies we enjoy, it is necessary to recruit new managers. Please check the expansion link for an update on any activity in that area.
We always try to fill Managerial openings by first using our waiting list. It is important for you to fill out an online application if you are interested in joining NARC. Be sure to select the option to add your name to the waiting list.
NARC Bylaws require that the league keeps pace with Major League Baseball in order to prevent All-Star teams from dominating play. The intent of that goal is to give good value to role and fringe players. This should result in encouraging player movement and preventing league apathy.
Our last expansion was completed in 1999 and we now have 24 active teams. You may view the expansion draft results by following this link. The draft is presented by round as well as showing each pick by team. Maybe even more important to your research are the expansion draft rules that were used to create these new teams. While there are no guarantees, it is likely that we will follow a similar process in the future.
We do not have any formalized plans to expand in the near future. We feel it is important to settle the new teams in before making another leap. Being MLB still has quite a few more teams than NARC, it is likely that we will begin expansion discussions sooner rather than later. Our discussion board will be used for this purpose and is open to you as a "listener" as well as a participant.
Please read the following outline of membership requirements. These are the minimum expectations that we have for anyone who joins NARC.
Okay, these were pretty easy. But you should still have some additional questions ... What kind of rules are used? ... Who are the other managers? ... What do the team rosters look like? ... What are some of the hot issues? Those are all fair questions. Your next step should be to follow the index links to the information sources provided. Check out the league Bylaws and visit/subscribe to our online discussion board (you don't have to be a league member). You can also surf through other parts of the site to see draft and trade info.
